Ropewalk is a popular tavern in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland that keeps expanding in size as the years go by. In Spring 2013, the owners of Ropewalk opened a second location on the bayside of the main road (Rt 1/Coastal Highway) in Fenwick Island, Delaware. This Spring, Ropewalk: A Fenwick Island Oyster House will host it’s inaugural Oyster Fest, carrying the tradition of an Oyster Fest from the streets of Federal Hill to the shores of Fenwick Island, just north of Ocean City, Maryland.
The inaugural Oyster Fest will take place on Saturday April 26th from 1 to 9 p.m. and when you go you will be able to enjoy a variety of oysters from the East and West coasts at a cost of about $2 per oyster. In addition to feasting on yummy oysters you can chill out to the local tunes of Monkey Paw at 1:00 and Barry and Phil, an acoustic duo, at 5:30. Parents, there is no need for you to feel left out as Ropewalk’s Oyster Fest IS a kid friendly event with the permanent Ropewalk playground for kids to play on and a moon bounce that will be brought in for the event as well.
If oysters won’t fill you up, don’t worry, Ropewalk’s head chef, Frank Campanella, will be bringing his professional barbecue team from his other business, Godfather BBQ. The Godfather BBQ team will feature smoked pork butts and briskets that will have been smoked overnight Friday before the Oyster Fest kicks off.
Yummy oysters, tasty drinks, delicious BBQ, local music, good times, great company, and a beach location; what more could you ask for? Well…as if the Oyster Fest branching out to Ropewalk’s Fenwick Island location isn’t awesome enough, it also helps a good cause! Funds raised at the Ropewalk Oyster Fest in Fenwick Island will benefit the Oyster Recovery Partnership which is an Annapolis-based nonprofit organization that recycles oysters shells to return them to the waters of the Chesapeake Bay to create reefs making a place for live oysters to settle down and multiply.
So go grab your friends and family and head to Ropewalk A Fenwick Island Oyster House this Saturday, April, 26.
